Just Too Funny!

I met a wonderful lady recently whose son is a Marine Corporal serving in Afghanistan. She, like millions of us is burdened with an imperious, tin-eared, nanny state, myopic Democratic Congressman. In this case, it is Ben Chandler of Kentucky’s 6th District.

Ben refuses to hold town hall meetings and disparages the folks who want to get his ear and demand he vote for their long term interests instead of rubber stamping the Obama agenda. Eunice is fighting back with a wonderful website showing what a dilfarb Mr. Chandler actually is. One of her best works is a craftily photo shopped video demonstrating where her Congressman is when he should be travelling his district listening to the will of the voters.

Just imagine your Senator (Murray for instance?), or Congressman (Inslee, McDermott, Baird, Larson, Smith?) in this clip. Please accept my apologies as I am not nearly as savvy as Eunice, or I would have blatantly copied her work with one of our current Obama sycophants.

You may want to watch this more than once. The sappy music fits the scenes perfectly and you will get a real kick out of where Ben manages to appear in the photos.

It would be wonderful to find a creative computer whiz that could knock something like this out for those of us here in Washington. Email me at oldironjarhead@live.com if you are that person.

Eunice’s website is:

Enjoy!

Changing Gears

I have been writing this blog for 8 months now. The only reason I have done so is to perhaps convince a few voters to agree with me that this upcoming mid-term election is probably the most important one of our lifetimes.

I am concentrating my efforts in a somewhat different direction for the next 2 months. I will not have the time to make regular posts, but will do so when time permits.

I have volunteered to be a Precinct Committee Officer in my neighborhood. The work involves gathering support by contacting residents personally, distributing yard signs, doorbelling with the candidates, and holding small group meetings for folks to discuss the issues and meet the candidates themselves. This work will involve a lot of time and shoe leather, but it provides the opportunity to perhaps turn a few opinions and get out the vote for the general election.

Our nation faces huge problems that have been building for decades and only exacerbated by the present administration and Congress. Debt and entitlement programs are out of control. Inept Foreign Policy is weakening America’s position in the world. Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the FHA and VA are still pushing “liar loans” and other subprime instruments to promote social engineering instead of intelligent lending. Each is in dire straights and in the process of failing with huge taxpayer bailouts in the future.

“Taxpayers” are only bearing part of the burden. Our children are on the hook for the rest – $13 Trillion in National Debt, and over $100 Trillion more in unfunded entitlement program liabilities. Our economy is trying mightily to recover, but policies and regulations pushed by an administration of academics and eggheads with no private sector business experience are threatening to tip the economy back into the recession. They are intentionally attempting to balkanize America along race and class lines instead of continuing the healing and progress that has occurred since the Civil Rights Act.

The only way to begin to turn this ship around and save our children’s’ future is to flip control of Congress from the administration to the opposition. That will stop further harmful legislation and defund some that is already on the books.

The quote on my business card is:

“I dedicate my remaining years on earth to preventing our government from squandering the future of our children.”

I mean that, I am committed to that goal, and I will work my tail off to accomplish it. There are 7 little nieces and nephews whom I treasure who are depending on you and me to save them from a future we have to strive to prevent.

Just the Facts

Here is Daniel Hannan, Member of the European Parliament chastising former Prime Minister Gordon Brown about deficit spending and borrowing. This exact same speech could and should be delivered in our own Congress, on the Sunday talk shows, and from every rooftop in America. Keep in mind that when Mr. Hannan mentions that every child in Britain is born owing “Twenty Thousand Pounds”; in America every child is born owing just shy of $400,000!

Our own Senator Murray and Representative Inslee are so wrapped around the axle with myopic liberal orthodoxy that neither of them would ever think of opposing the dangers of the nation’s present path toward future bankruptcy. Both ignore the past, are blind to the future, and concerned only with personal power. It is our job to elect replacements for them with Mr. Hannan’s common sense and courage. They are out there and running in the primaries this very moment and deserve our support.

This November General Election may well be the most important in our lifetimes. Don’t miss this opportunity to make a difference. Your little loved ones, too young to vote or yet unborn, are depending on you.

The Anti-Inslees

Here is a little toe-tapper you have probably never heard. The lyrics arrive somewhat late, but you should find them quite cute and cheerful. Please enjoy the music as you learn a bit about our 1st district Congressman:

Jay Inslee is a lawyer. This is not meant as an insult, but with 36% of the House of Representatives lawyers, aren’t lawyers over-represented as our overseers? Just because they are “law makers” does not mean they HAVE to be attorneys.

Mr. Inslee is a career politician with carpetbagger tendencies. He served one term in the early ‘90s in a conservative-leaning district and was bounced out. He then ran for Governor and lost in the primary. Next he ran in the 1st District which was trending liberal and won – barely. He was running against a popular two term incumbent who managed to fall into scandal just prior to the election. A third-party spoiler eroded about 5% of the vote also and Inslee won with under 50% of the total. As is the case for most Congressmen, once he elected, he stayed in power. He has been reelected five times, usually challenged by unknown candidates. Some whispers have it that he may try for Governor again. This guy craves power in a big way. It is now 2010. Do we want to keep Inslee around, or send him back to lawyerism?

The Founding Fathers envisioned “citizen legislators” who would leave their farms and businesses to serve only a term or two. Today we have representatives who latch onto the perks and power of office and cling like leaches in an Asian rice paddy. They will not stop sucking our blood until scorched with a cigarette. That “cigarette” must be public awareness, opposition, and by all means, our votes.

With a voting record rated at 80.7% liberal by the National Journal, Mr. Inslee tends to support taxes, alternative energy, abortion, cap & trade, health care, and just about any new law or regulation that pops up on his radar screen. He loves spending on just about any new program, but votes against drilling, tax cuts, spending cuts, defense, Second Amendment issues, new prisons, and border security.

This site will give you a complete tally of Inslee’s voting record and his position on the Liberal-Conservative continuum:

We have two great candidates running in the primary for the Republican nomination to replace Mr. Inslee. Neither one is, has been, or ever will be a lawyer. Both their websites are listed below. Please take a few minutes to examine each and evaluate their positions on the issues. Either of them would be a grand breath of fresh air compared to Jay Inslee and his constant support of yet more suffocating regulation and increasing taxes. Support whomever you choose in the primary, but let us all really get behind the nominee and take this seat back for the Republican Party.

Our and our children’s futures depend on stopping the Obama Administration’s spiral into national ruin. Cashiering Inslee is a good first step. It is up to us, because the kids can’t vote.

Inslee’s Vote

Mar 18, 2010 2:22 PM Yea On Ordering the Previous Question: H.Res. 1190 Providing for consideration of motions to suspend the rules.
Passed 222-203, 6 not voting

The US House of Representatives just voted to go forward with “deeming” the Senate Health Care Bill passed in a vote scheduled for Sunday. Above is Jay Inslee’s vote and the official tally. 221 others – All Democrats – voted with him.

This vote was taken so House members could avoid actually voting on the Senate Bill.

Somehow Jay Inslee thinks his fingerprints will not appear on the Bill if it passes, but he cannot hide. The American people know exactly what this chicanery is about and will not stand still for it. The House has scheduled the vote for Sunday, 21 MAR 10 in hopes fewer people will be paying attention.

Here is Dr. Paul Broun, a House Member from Georgia succinctly describing the arrogant hubris of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

I urge you to contact Mr. Inslee, or your own Congressman and let him know you see right through this subterfuge. Then donate generously to James Watkins who will be running against Inslee this fall.

Following is Inslee’s contact information. You can easily find your own Representative’s numbers by typing his name into Google or BING. His email will reject yours if your ZIP Code is out of his district. The phone and FAX numbers are busy a lot, but with some perseverance, one can get through.

Senator of Sanity

Senator Scott Brown won a decisive election in Massachusetts in January becoming the first Republican to win there since the ‘70s. He won by standing against this dangerous government attempt to take over 1/6 of the entire American economy. He has not been in DC long enough to be corrupted by the toilet bowl back room deal making that has characterized federal politics – especially the health care legislation.

Few have seen this clip which was the Republican response to the President’s message last Saturday. Please invest 5 minutes of your time for a fresh and compelling outlook on the present situation.

Nancy Pelosi is worried she may not have the votes in the house and is even now making plans to use legislative slight-of-hand. She will apply a “rule change” to “deem the bill” passed WITHOUT ANY HOUSE VOTE AT ALL.

Please contact your Congressman. It is time to pile on with everything we can muster. Below is an example of a FAX I sent to my representative. Please take the time to do the same:

Dear Congressman Inslee:

I wish to register my strong opposition to this health care bill and the way the speaker is attempting to get it passed. 2700+/- pages of legislation written by politicians, lawyers, and special interests behind closed doors is WRONG!

I agree with you completely that our health care system requires Congressional attention to solve some of our present problems. However this is not the way to do it. Please start over and address the issues one at a time in easily negotiated and understandable segments.

If this bill passes against the will of the majority of the American people there will be a sea change in Congress this November. If you voted for it, I shall dedicate every hour and spare penny I have to help you find yourself looking for new employment.

Sincerely,
